All About Me !!

Kia Ora everyone, my name is Eti and I attend St Patrick’s School. I am a sister of 7 siblings including me. I am a Tongan, Fijian, British on my mum’s side. My favourite thing to do is play sports, especially when I play with my brothers because I like it when I tackle them. My dad inspires me, giving me the confidence and courage to never give up in what I want to do.

My challenge for this year is to have a scholarship so that when I grow up I can become a rugby player. This year I have learned a lot, such as how to say Jehovah, God and Jesus not only in Samoan, but in other languages. I enjoy playing with my friends and playing rugby.

What I’m looking forward to this year is to become a rugby player and to follow the footsteps of my mum and dad. The person who inspires me is my dad. My dad has always been there for me ever since I was little girl. I am also looking forward to inspiring the juniors into doing the right thing.

Wash your hands to keep the germs away from you !!

Good hand washing is the first line of defense from the spreading of many illnesses, from colds to more serious infections.

Hand washing, is known as hand hygiene and is the act of cleaning for the purpose of removing, dirt, soil, germs and microorganisms.

Washing our hands is very important because we can get sick from all the germs and dirt from our hands by putting it into our mouths. Kids can be infected by touching each others, eyes, nose and mouth.

Germs can be spread in many different ways, including
touching hands, changing dirty clothing and also through contaminated water and food.

It is important to wash our hands so you can get rid of germs and won’t be infected and contaminated.

Euphrasie Barbier!

Adele Euphrasie was a New Zealand Roman Catholic nun, teacher and religious founder of congregation, of the lady of our missions. She was born in Caen France, on the 14th of January 1829. She started her own local job at a laundromat at the age of 13 and opened her own laundry at home at 17.

She was the only child of Louis - Desire Barbier, a shoemaker, and his wife, Jeanne Adele Le Cler . She worked for a time as a laundress before entering the religious life.

When she arrived in Ellersile she received a letter saying they don't need her anymore, but she ignored the letter and helped other communities who needed her help.

Euphrasie Barbier founded the Mission sisters who built many schools around New  Zealand and throughout the world. They supported those who needed food, water and supplies, especially woman's and children. Her actions and commitment showed that she was a responsible and helpful person. 

To be like Euphrasie we can help those in and out of our community.

My Achievements of 2018 !!

In maths, I have learnt  a lot of ways how to solve math equations and what strategies will be easier and quicker for me to solve them. My next step in maths is to, use my maths skills that I have learnt to help me with my understanding in solving new math problems that I haven’t used before.

In Reading this year, I have been Reading novels which I find  interesting that would help me identify and understand the text that I have been reading about. Therefore I am going to achieve my reading comprehension by asking and answering questions that has been given to me from the text that I have been reading and doing some research about.

For writing, I have been writing explanations about the earth and more other things that would help me to keep up with my writing. I am going to achieve my writing skills by, using more interesting words to make my writing more interesting for my readers to read. Also making sure I have putted my capital letters, punctuation's and full stops in the correct order at all times.

For Religious Education this year, Ms Dines has given us tasks to complete and  to finish before the end of the year. I have learnt ways that Jesus helped others when they are sad, hurt and even helped those who doesn’t believe in God. I am going to achieve my goal by adding more details ( information) to explain what Jesus has done on earth to help others, before he has left, and his message that has been given to us.

For Topic, we have been working on a scientific experiment about electricity and what causes electricity. We also are working on a science experiment that we have chosen to work about. I am going to achieve my goal by, preparing all my ingredients together and to always focus not ( mucking around).
