Euphrasie Barbier!

                                Euphrasie Barbier
Adele Euphrasie was a New Zealand Roman Catholic nun, teacher and religious founder of congregation, of the lady of our missions.
She was born in Caen France, on the 14th of January 1829. She started her own local job at a laundromat at the age of 13 and opened her own laundry at home at 17.

She was the only child of Louis - Desire Barbier, a shoemaker, and his wife, Jeanne Adele Le Cler . She worked for a time as a laundress before entering the religious life.

When she arrived in Ellersile she received a letter saying they don't need her anymore, but she ignored the letter and helped other communities who needed her help.

Euphrasie Barbier founded the Mission sisters who built many schools around New  Zealand and throughout the world. They supported those who needed food, water and supplies, especially woman's and children. Her actions and commitment showed that she was a responsible and helpful person.

To be like Euphrasie we can help those in and out of our community.
